Fairview Baptist Temple is an independent, fundamental Baptist church in Clay, West Virginia. We stand on the King James Bible, we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we hold to the old paths without apology.
Four plain truths that shape who we are and how we serve.
We are an independent, fundamental Baptist church that stands on the King James Bible as the preserved Word of God, cherishing its unchanging truths without compromise.
Sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, we nurture faith, build strong families, and reach our community and the world with the gospel.
Called to worship and serve in spirit and truth, we are a refuge for the hurting, a help for the struggling, and a beacon of God's Word in Clay County.
The Bible teaches that all have sinned and are in need of salvation. Jesus loves you and has made a way for you to be saved. Accept His gift of grace today.
Fairview Baptist Temple is an independent, fundamental Baptist church. We are not part of a convention or a denomination. Christ is the head of this church, and the Scriptures are our final authority in every matter of faith and practice.
We believe the King James Bible is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people. It is the Book we preach from, teach from, and measure every idea against. We do not hold to it because it is old fashioned. We hold to it because it is true.
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. Salvation is not earned by good works, church membership, or baptism. It is the free gift of God to every sinner who will repent and believe. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9.
We believe baptism is for believers. It comes after salvation, by immersion, as a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Saviour. It does not wash away a single sin; it tells the world whose we are.
We believe the local, independent church is God's plan for this age: a body of baptized believers gathered to worship, to grow in the Word, and to carry the gospel to Clay County and to the ends of the earth.
If you want to talk any of this through, or ask where Fairview stands on a passage, send us your question. We would be glad to open the Bible with you.
The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The good news is that Jesus loves you, died in your place, and rose again. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13. His grace is a free gift, and today is the day to receive it.
